OBITUARY
Death of John J. Twedt [sic]
Joseph J. Twedt, one of the prominent and prosperous farmers of Howard township, died at his home there early Tuesday morning after an illness of a couple of days with dysentery. He was 56 years of age, a native of Norway, and had been a resident of this country about thirty-five years. He leaves a wife and five or six children and numerous relatives. He will be much mourned. The date of the funeral is undetermined, pending advices from a son in Arizona. People will not confound the deceased with his cousin Joe H. Twedt, who is also a prominent farmer of Howard township and who has at this term of court been serving on the grand jury.

The funeral of Joe J. Twedt was held at Salems church Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Sandven. In the passing of this good man, this community loses a citizen whose every act and deed ws for the betterment of humanity. Joe J. Twedt was a man of few words, but noted for his many noble deeds. The writer has served with him in an official as well as a social capacity, and knew him thoroughly and can testify with all others that his life was one of purity of purpose and godliness. His departure leaves behind his wife, two sons and two daughters besides many other relatives in the county. The esteem in which he was held was manifested by the large attendance at the funeral.
