OBITUARY

Death of Maurice Jess

Mr. Maurice Jess, who has been sick for several months with dropsy, died at his home on the McLaughlin farm west of town Sunday, April 26, 1908. Mr. Jess was born in Indiana nearly fifty years ago of Irish ancestry. His home has been in Story county for many years. His wife was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mulvihill of this city, and she died several years ago. Two worthy daughters, Agnes and Sadie, survive the father, also a brother, Mr. John Jess. The funeral services were held at the Catholic church Tuesday morning conducted by Father Nicholls and the interment was in the Nevada Catholic cemetery. Mr. Jess was well and kindly spoken of by neighbors and acquaintances and sympathy of the community is extended to the daughters and brother and other relatives.
