From Nevada Representative April 6, 1908

Byron E. Boody, an Iowa Central brakeman, was killed in a scuffle at Marshalltown late Friday evening. It does no appear, however, that there was any malice in the matter. As told, the story is that he threw his arms around a friend who was cleaning his fingernails with a large knife and that in the incidental scuffle he was cut so deeply that after a little he showed effects and then fell down and in a few minutes died. The an who held the knife was Frank Benson, another brakeman. There was some beer mixed up with the matter, the amount of which is disputed; but there is no story of any quarrel. It seems to be an a case of a knife and some beer and some carelessness. Boody was the second son of a widow and had recently removed to Marshalltown from Missouri.
