OBITUARY

Death of R. McClure

Intelligencer*: Mr. McClure died at his home two miles northwest of town,* Wednesday, January 29th, at 12:30. He had been sick for about three weeks and his death was not unexpected. Mr. McClure was an old settler and well known throughout the county. Had he lived till March he would have been eighty-two years old. The funeral occurs Friday afternoon at 2:00 at the home conducted by Rev. A. M. Shea.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: This death notice is apparently quoting from the Ames newspaper, the Intelligencer, so when it says Roan McClure died two miles northwest of town, the "town" referred to is Ames, Iowa. Roan McClure died in Frankln Township, Story County, Iowa.
