Death of Mrs. McCollister
Mrs. Mary McCollister passed from this life October 26, 1910, at her home near Cambridge, aged 59 years, 10 months and 24 days.
Mary Evans, the daughter of Isaac and Grecha Evans*, was born near La Porte, Ind., Dec. 5, 1850, removed with her parents to Illinois and there was married, May 13, 1873, to Albert McCollister. Two children, Bertha and Adrian, who were the fruit of this union, were with the deceased in her last days. She is also survived by two sisters, and three brothers--namely: Mrs. Carrie McPherson of Sheldon, Ia.; Mrs. Lucy Kingsbury of Kiswaukee, Ill.; Jerry Evans of Walnut, Kansas; and William Evans of Paulina, Ia. Mrs. McCollister had suffered for many years with cancer of the face but had borne up without murmuring or repining. Her funeral service was conducted by Rev. Clarence King Saturday forenoon at the Jefferson church and interment was in the cemetery at Nevada beside the remains of her husband who preceded her one year ago last August. Many friends joined in the obsequies, and deeply sympathize in the sorrow of bereaved ones.
*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: The parents of Mary Elizabeth (Evans) McCallister were Isaac Evans and Jerusha "Rusha" Lockwood.
