M. A. Ellett of Ames, a traveling man and frescoe-painter, and also proprietor of the of the Lawton house in Ames, was hit by a train and killed near Davenport Thursday afternoon of last week. He and another man were sitting beside the track and failed to get far enough away from a passing train. The other man escaped with minor injuries. Ellett was thirty-eight years of age and he leaves a wife and several children. His funeral was at Ames.
