Obituary from Retz Funeral Home, Greene, Iowa.

Funeral services for Ann Elizabeth Stark, 56, of Greene, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church in Greene, with Pastor Cathy Belles officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at Retz Funeral Home, 519 N. First St. Greene.

Ann Elizabeth Stark was born on June 6, 1960, in Ames, Iowa, the daughter of Allen and Donna (Wendorff) Trenkle and entered into eternal rest on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family.

Ann received her education in public school graduating from Ames High School in 1978. She furthered her education earning a bachelor degree from Iowa State University in 1982 in Music Education. She taught Band at Greene High School for one year following graduation.

Ann was united in marriage to Steve Stark on June 19, 1983, at the First Presbyterian Church in Greene. This union was blessed with two daughters, Amy and Emily.

Ann ran a daycare from her home until her children were of school age. She worked part-time for Comprehensive Sound Services for 27 years and later with the City of Greene as well.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greene where she served as an Elder, Clerk Session, Treasurer, and sang in the choir, and was a member of the Presbyterian Quartet.

Ann was a member of the Greene Volunteer Ambulance from 1995-2016 (21 years), Service Unit Manager and Leader for the Greene Girl Scouts, played in the Hampton Municipal Band for 33 years, and participated in the North Iowa Concert Band.

She was very talented and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cross-stitch, embroidery work, knitting, reading, walking, music, gardening, and wine-making. Ann accompanied many vocal and instrumental students at music contests.

Ann is survived by her loving Husband of 33 years, Steve; two Daughters: Amy Marie (Luke) Johnson, Ames; Emily Elaine (Will) Schuldt, Janesville; grandchildren: Madaline Schuldt, Leo Johnson and Landon Johnson; Father, Allen Trenkle, Ames; Sisters: Laura (Stefan) Beskow, Morrisville, NC; Janet (Kevin) Binder, Ankeny; Brother-in-law Doug (Sara) Stark, Greene; Niece, Sarah Binder; Nephews: Jason Binder, Nathan Stark, Collin Stark, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her Mother, Donna Trenkle in January 2015.
