Donald Dean Taylor, 72, of Ames, formerly of Nevada, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Don was born January 26, 1944, in Albert Lea, Minnesota the son of Orlin and Eunice Taylor. He had worked for Hallett Construction in Ames and enjoyed fishing and camping. He loved being around people and grilling with family.

Don is survived by his children: Steven Taylor, Rod Taylor and Tonya (Ted) Potter; his step-children: Dave Hermanson, Tom Hermanson (PJ), James (Shauna) Holveck, Donna Davenport, Debbie Davenport and Mike Davenport; his brothers: Rick (Phyllis) Taylor, Doug Taylor, Mike (Linda) Taylor, Ardis (Cliff) Cazett, Barb (Gary) Thompson; 20 grandchildren ;9 great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Blazer. He was preceded in death by his wives: Pamela, Maryann and Jean; a daughter, Denise Moore; three sisters and two brothers.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 7 at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada with Pastor David Burling officiating. A luncheon will follow services. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Don.
