Killed by Cars
Miss Minnie Ashbrook, a kindergarten teacher of Marshalltown, was killed by the cars there Monday morning. Her school was south of the railroads and she had crossed the tracks east of the Northwestern depot when her had blew off. She went back after her had and was struck when she stooped to pick it up. She fell with her feet across one rail and her arms across the other, and the wheels took off her scalp besides crushing her arms and legs. She was conscious when picked up and lived about three-quarters of an hour. She was forty years of age and a teacher of ability and experience.
