Services Wednesday for Zearing man, James Dillin, 85
ZEARING -- Services for James Ralph Dillin, 85, of Rural Route Zearing will be Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 9:30 a.m. in the McCallsburg United Presbyterian Church. Rev. Albert Best will officiate with burial in the Nevada Cemetery.
Dillin died Monday at 9:15 a.m. in the Story County Hospital at Nevada following a 13-year illness.
Born April 29, 1891 in Richland Township, Dillin lived in both Zearing and Nevada. He was a hardware dealer until his retirement in 1956. He was educated in the McCallsburg school and graduated from the Capitol City Community College in Des Moines.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; two sons, James Elwyn of Melbourne, Fla., and James Otho of Long View, Wash.; four daughters: Winifred Stahlman of Falcon, Mo., Martha Birchmeir of Edmuond, Okla., Bernice Upchurch of Seattle, Wash., and Jacqueline Staulke of Clear Lake; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
