Nancy Lou (Fuss) Ashburn died on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Mary Greeley in Ames, IA. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00pm on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Stevens Memorial Chapel (607 28th St., Ames, IA 50010). Funeral Service will begin at 2:00pm on Thursday, December 8, 2016 following visitation. Burial will follow services in the Nevada Cemetery.

Nancy Lou Ashburn was born in Nevada, Iowa on January 23, 1953 to William and Lucille (Shearer) Fuss of Nevada, she grew up on the family farm just South of Nevada. Nancy attended Nevada and Shipley Schools, graduating from Maxwell High School in 1971.

Nancy was an Elvis fan, and loved old westerns. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen baking cookies for friends and family. She had an appreciation for flowers, however she did not have a green thumb. She will be remembered by those who knew her for her independence, her love for animals, and for her ability to let you know how she felt by the look on her face.

She worked for Donnelleys and Graphic Forms in Nevada, after her time at Graphic Forms she went to work for 3M in Ames from 1972 to 2009 until her retirement, working for 3M for 36 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

She is survived by her sisters; Linda (Chuck) Nickerson of Nevada, IA and Cindy (Steve) Huston of Ames, IA, as well as her nephew; Jason Huston of Ames, IA, and her nieces; Amy Coffey of Ames, IA and Irene Nickerson of Nevada, IA.
