Pearl Lucille (Thomas) Kooyman, 89, of Huxley, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 2, 2016, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa. Pearl was born on March 6, 1927 in Lucas County, Iowa to Charley Thomas and Janie (McCarl) Thomas. She attended Goshen Baptist Church of Derby, Iowa, where she received Jesus Christ as her Savior.

She graduated from Derby High School in 1944 and attended Simpson College, Indianola, IA

She was married to Wilbur Kooyman on January 8, 1949 at Goshen Baptist Church and lived in Cambridge, IA until moving to Ballard Creek in Huxley, IA.

She is survived by two sons: Dennis (Peggy) Kooyman, Huxley, IA and Ron Kooyman, Chicago, IL; two daughters: Lois (Lawrence) Bartel, Liberty, MO and Marsha (Bruce) Anderson, Arlington, TX; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by three sisters: Opal Cowles, Bonnie Roy, Theobelle Ross; and one brother Alvin “Tommy” Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers, Glen Thomas and Dale Thomas.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Friday, December 9th at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell, Iowa. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 10th at Faith Baptist Church in Cambridge, Iowa with burial to follow at the Cambridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church or Ballard Creek Assisted Living in Huxley, Iowa.
