From Nevada Representative January 18, 1910 (page 5)

T. S. Herron, the Northwestern engineer whose funeral was held in Boone a few days ago, was borne to his rest by eight of his brother engineers. He had been in the employ of the Northwestern for thirty seven years. And it was not altogether for his health either for starting as a fireman and sticking to his engine while life lasted he left a fortune of $150,000. He was economical and made good investments. He had the business tact and ideas which make for success, and which in business might have rolled up a much larger fortune. But he liked his wok and got out it enjoyment as he went along which made life worth living. Multiplied gains would not have helped his happiness except as benevolence of purpose increased correspondingly. His wife passed on before him and he leaves a mother and brothers and sisters, but no children.
