Mr. Whitmer died at the home of his son John, south of Collins Friday morning. Funeral services were conducted at the Brethren church south of Maxwell Sunday. Interment at Brethren cemetery.

John R. Witmer, whose death of the age of 76 occurred at his home southeast of Maxwell December 17, was buried from the Ashton church Sunday. His wife and their nine children were all present at his funeral. The bearers were his sons William D., Harding D., John R., Earl; his nephew Howard Witmer, and his grandson, Archie Witmer. Those from abroad attending the funeral were Edith Manning of Newton, Iowa; Ellen Charf, Annie Wydell, Earl Witmer and wife, his grandchild, Mrs. Ethel Meredith and Frank R. Witmer, his only brother in the west, also from Newton, Iowa and Susie Adams of Phillips, Neb.
