From Nevada Representative October 19, 1909 (page 5)
Friends of Prof. and Mrs. L. T. Weld of Cedar Rapids will learn with very great regret of the death of their second son, Lloyd P. Weld. He died at an early hour Friday morning last after an illness of only a few hours from heart failure. The deceased was a traveling man at the time his father was superintendent of the Nevada schools and for some years thereafter; but more recently he had been manager of the Independent Baking company of Cedar Rapids, which position he held at the time of his sudden death. He leaves a wife but we think no children. He is survived also by his parents, now of Cedar Rapids, and by his brothers, Dean L. G. Weld of the State University at Iowa City and Prof. Roy Weld of Coe College in Cedar Rapids. The deceased must have been about forty-five years of age.
