Bobby Lee “Bob” Hobson, 84, of Nevada, passed away Monday, November 28, 2016, at the Story County Medical Center in Nevada.

Bob was born September 11, 1932, in Nevada, the son of Clarence and Fern (Redd) Hobson. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1952 and was united in marriage to Marjorie Breeden on September 15, 1956. To this union their son Keith was born. Marjorie passed away in 2009 after 52 years of marriage. In 2011 Bob was united in marriage to Joyce Ridgway. Joyce passed away in October of 2016.

Bob worked for Story County Roads and Engineering for 42 years and 7 months retiring in 1994. He lived his entire life in Nevada and was a member of the Nevada First United Methodist Church where he and Marjorie taught Sunday School for many years. Bob was also active in the Nevada Lions Club, the Nevada Masonic Lodge, and had been involved with the Nevada Community Historical Society and Golden K. Bob had served 24 years with the Story County Sheriff Reserves.

Bob is survived by his son, Keith (Brenda) Hobson of Nevada; his granddaughters: Leah (Tom) Fina of Houston, Texas and Rebecca Hobson (fiancé Seth Nicholson) of Storm Lake, Iowa; and two great-grandchildren: Oliver and Guinevere Fina. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and Marjorie and Joyce.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, December 2, at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, December 3, at the Nevada First United Methodist Church with Pastor Chris Waddle officiating. Burial will be at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery in Nevada.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Nevada First United Methodist Church.

Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
