Barbara Phylis Kennedy was born May 3, 1939 to Oley and Hilda (Fatland) Hanson in Ames, Iowa. Barb grew up in Huxley and attended Huxley schools. She married Herman Kennedy in 1970. Barb worked at Bournes, Hach Chemical and 3M Company in Ames, and Sitters Daycare in Slater. She enjoyed crocheting, painting, shopping, taking care of her beloved dog, Teddy and her cat, Franky, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed decorating her house.

Barb passed away November 23, 2016 at 77 years of age.

Barb is survived by her children, Terry (Jody) Terrones of Kelley, Debra Terrones of Des Moines and Rick (Susan) Terrones of Huxley; six grandchildren, Chantel (Kyle) Brown, Tonya (Joe) Mesner, Ryan Terrones, Christian (Tori) Terrones, Danielle Terrones and Wyatt Terrones; and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Kennedy; six sisters; and two brothers.
