Donald Paul Hadaway was born February 18, 1931 to Clarence and Anna (Keller) Hadaway at the Boone County Hospital in Boone. He graduated from Gilbert High School. Donald married Opal (Grove) Hadaway at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames on February 9, 1957. To this union ten children were born.

Donald enjoyed baseball, fishing, hunting and his hobby was restoring John Deere tractors. Don was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Donald’s chosen profession was carpentry

Donald passed away at 85 years of age on Friday, November 18, 2016 at his home.

Donald is survived by his wife, Opal; his children, Elizabeth (Jason) Johnson of Story City, Cecilia (Roger Kempe) Hadaway of Ames, Cindy (Ron) Miller of Luther, Mark (Cindy) Hadaway of Story City, Perry (Christy) Hadaway of Cambridge, Tom (Gaylene) Hadaway of Madrid, Jerome (Nicki) Hadaway of Jewell, Clarence “Ole” (Susan) Hadaway of Boone and Kenny Hadaway of Boone; 26 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Willard, Wallace, Roland and Harold; his son, Robert Hadaway; his grandson, Steve; and his granddaughter, Jennifer.
