COLLINS - Elmer James, 77, of Collins, a former Baxter area farmer, died Thursday, July 5, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at the Collins United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Nancy Schultz, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be left at the Boyd-Davis Funeral Home in Baxter.
Survivors are his wife, Zelda; a brother, Theodore W. James of Collins; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Mr. James was a member of the Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ.
He farmed near Baxter until 1978 when he moved to Collins.
The son of Henry and Annie Harrondorf James, he was born April 9, 1907 in Story County and was educated in Story County schools. He was a 197 graduate of Rhodes High School.
