OBITUARY

MRS. T. H. STEPHENS

Much surprise as well as great regret was occasioned by the death early on Monday morning of Mrs. T. H. Stephens who through all the years of her married life had been a much esteemed resident of this city. She had indeed been in uncertain health for many years and much of an invalid for four or five years; but she had been seriously ill for only about a week, and it as only on Sunday that she became much worse and her condition critical. From that point, however, her failure was rapid, and death ensued about three o'clock on Monday morning, October 16, 1916.

Mrs. Stephens was Miss Frank A. Foster and she was born at Big Rock, Illinois, January 23, 1857. She removed with her family as a young woman to Kansas, and at Hiawatha in that state she was in 1879 married to Thos. H. Stephens of Nevada, who brought her at once to his home here. To their union have been born three children, of whom with her husband, survive, that son Clair, who has for good many years resided in California, and the daughters Jessie and Marjorie, who are at home. She was aged 59 years, 8 months and 26 days.

The funeral will be conducted from the home Wednesday at two o'clock.
