TRAGIC DEATH OF FORMER RESIDENT

JOE KIES KILLED BY ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE OF HIS OWN SHOT GUN.

Cambridge, Dec. 12--Cambridge people were shocked to learn of the tragic death of Joe Kies Jr. former Cambridge man, when he was killed from an accidental gunshot, at the family home on a farm near Worthington, Minn. Mr. Kies, his wife and son, J. S. Kies, had been hunting during the afternoon. Returning home they had driven into the garage and as the father sent to remove the gun from the car, it was discharged, the load striking him fairly in the front of the neck, killing him instantly. He leaves his wife, one son, his father, mother, sister and two brothers.

The victim of the tragedy was raised to young manhood on a farm north of Cambridge and was most favorably known here One brother, Charles Kies, lives in Des Moines.
