ONTARIO

The funeral of Miss Mary E. McDaniel was held in the Ontario Christian church Saturday afternoon at two thirty. Miss McDaniel passed away November 24, 1914 after an illness of four weeks in a hospital. She was born January 2, 1834 in Brown county, Ohio and died at the age of twenty years, ten months and twenty two days. She has been a member of the United Presbyterian church since she was nine years of age. She leaves to mourn her death two sisters Mrs. Lulu Wrandall, whose home is in Ohio and Mrs. Sarah Grearson of Ames and one brother Mr. C. H. McDaniel who also live in Ohio. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Wendall of Story City. Several appropriate selections were sung by a choir consisting of Mrs. Gay Ward, Maynard Pepper, Mrs. Cora Cobb, Melvin Ross and John Baughman with Goldie Mangus as pianist. Interment was in the Ontario cemetery.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Mary E. McDaniel was the daughter of Jesse McDaniel and Augusta Howard. In the 1900 census, she and her sister Lulu are living with her maternal grandparents, Cyrus and Martha Howard, in Oliver, Adams County, Ohio.
