Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Beatrice Josephine Markley was born May 27, 1921 to Howard and Cordelia (Freel) Anfenson in Kelley, Iowa. Bea was a lifelong resident of Story County and worked as a store clerk for Fareway, Hy-Vee and Randalls.

Bea passed away August 28, 2016 at 95 years of age.

Bea is survived by her daughters, Jeanne Bohning, Phyllis (Dick) Webb and Susan (David) Roe; her son, Jon Purvis; her son-in-law, Paul Helland; her step-son, Charles (Karen) Markley; fourteen grandchildren; and her sister, Donna Kay Simpson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; three daughters, Janet Purvis, Joan Helland and Virginia Janssen; two brothers; and two sisters.

There will be private family services at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Walnut Grove Cemetery, 28970 560th Avenue, Cambridge, IA 50046 or Bethany Life Foundation, 212 Lafayette Avenue, Story City, IA 50248.
