MRS. C. O. HIGHLAND PASSED AWAY SUNDAY

The entire community was shocked Sunday when the news went out that Mrs. Clarence O. Highland had passed away that morning at the home of her parents, Mr and Mrs John Stole. Mrs. Highland has not been in the best of health for some time and had recently returned from Des Moines, where she has been taking treatments in a hospital. She seemed to be getting better on her return until Sunday morning when she suffered a relapse and passed to the Great Beyond.

Mae Amanda Store Highland was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John N. Stole and she was born on February 8, 1894. Her early life was spent with her folks no a farm south of town. After she grew into womanhood she attended school at Jewell Lutheran college and at Ellsworth college at Ioa Falls. On February 5, 1914, she was united in marriage to Mr. Clarence O. Highland. She was of an affectionate disposition, bright and winning in her ways, so that her friendship's circle was to her a large one. Indeed, it may be said of her, that none knew her, but to lover her.

She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, father and mother, one brother and one sister.

The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from Salems church. Rev. Sandven, who baptized her and married her officiated at her last sad rites.
