Scarlet Fever at McCallsburg

The Allen Baumgardner family was struck with a wave of scarlet fever last week when their three children were taken sick with the dread disease. Frieda, their 16-year-old daughter died last Thursday, a few hours after diphtheria have set in. The latest reports from there that we have are that the other two children seem to have passed the crisis and if no complications should set in hopes are entertained for a speedy recovery. The grief-stricken family has the profoundest sympathy of the entire community in the loss of their dear daughter. They however have one consolation in the thought that she had recently taken a stand for Jesus and decided to serve Him and by doing likewise they can all meet her there in everlasting glory, where sickness and death is no more.
