FRANK DANA
Advice has been received here of the death of Frank Dana at Seattle, Washington on Saturday afternoon, October 4. The deceased was the eldest child and only son of the late J. L. Dana of this city; he was reared and we think born in Nevada, educated here and at Iowa City, and he married here Effie Whipple, removing with his little family to Cheyenne, Wyoming, sometime in the earlier 80's. They lived a Cheyenne for something like ten or a dozen years and then removed to Seattle, which has since been their home. He is survived by his wife and five children, four sons and a daughter, all of whom are married excepting the youngest son. Also he leaves his mother, Mrs. Harriet A. Dana and his sister, Florence, now Mrs. J. L. Corey both of whom now live in Seattle.
Mr. Dana was back to Nevada occasionally during the years of his residence at Cheyenne but since the removal to Seattle the only visit back has been on the occasion of the death of his father in 1906. The associates of his boyhood have, therefore, seen almost nothing of him in twenty years and very little in thirty years. To all of them, however, remembrance is clear, and the news of his death come with a shock. His occupation in later years was a traveling salesman.
