MACK CONNOLLY CALLED BY DEATH
NATIVE OF EAST NEVADA TOWNSHIP DIED AT KANSAS CITY WEDNESDAY.
Mack A. Connolly, 51, died at Kansas City Wednesday and the body arrived in this city over the Rock Island this morning and will be taken to the old family home near Colo. Funeral services will be held from the Catholic church at Colo, Saturday morning, after which interment will be in the family lot in the cemetery there.
Mr. Connolly was a son of one of the pioneer families of that part of the county. Mr. and Mrs. John Connolly of east Nevada township.
Raised in Story county and attending the rural schools he later located in Des Moines where with his brother, J. S. Connolly he was for twenty years engaged in a number of amusement enterprises, among them the management of the old Grand Opera house.
Later he joined the Thearle-Duffield Fireworks organization and had spent the later years on the road for that concern.
He leaves a number of brothers and sisters as well as other relatives who will be present for the funeral.
Mr. Connolly was a business man of originality and rare abilities along lines to which he confined himself and had been counted as a successful one.
