Obituary for Darren Stouwie

Darren Dean Stouwie, 23, of Nevada, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Darren was born September 3, 1992, in Ames to Barry Stouwie and Karren Loomis. He graduated from Nevada High School in 2010 and had attended DMACC. Darren enjoyed skateboarding and was an Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. He loved music especially playing the guitar.

Darren is survived by his dad Barry Stouwie (Jolene Oxley); his mom, Karren Loomis (Jim Koehn); his sisters: Brittany and Sydney Stouwie; his brother, Jonah Stouwie; his step-sister, Jessica Foley; his maternal grandma, Carolyn Stouwie; and his step-mom, Michelle Yoder. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Dean Loomis and Shirley Duros; his paternal grandpa, Cecil Stouwie, Jr.; and a brother, Barry Gene Stouwie II.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 10, also at the funeral home with inurnment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens near Nevada.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family c/o Karren Loomis.
