Mrs. William J. Doolittle
Funeral services for Mrs. William J. Doolittle, age 88, were held Wednesday, July 17 at 2 p.m., at Grace United Methodist church, Story City with the Rev. Paul H. Beckman officiating. Mrs. Dorrel Doolittle was organist. Mrs. Tom Yantis sand "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace". Burial was in the Sheffield cemetery. Pallbearers were Larry Lykins, Willie Lykins, David Doolittle, Mark Doolittle, Jerry Doolittle and Doug Doolittle.
Marie Mae Matheason Doolittle, daughter of Marius and Anna Matheason, was born July 11, 1885, southwest of Story City. On February 19, 1905, she was united in marriage to William J. Doolittle at Webster City. They lived on a farm southeast of Story City until 1957 when they moved into Story City. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist church.
Surviving are two sons: Wesley and Merlin Doolittle, both of Story City; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters: Victor Mathison, Nevada, Nels Mathison, Mrs. Amanda Hendrickson, Mrs. Blanche Hanson, Mrs. Rose Lykins and Mrs. Myrtle McCreight, all of Story City. She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 1960; also he two sons; two grandchildren; her parents; one sister and four brothers.
