C. Lewis Johnson, Roland died
C. Lewis Johnson, 75, died Thursday at his home in Roland.
Funeral services will be a 2 p.m., Monday, from the Bergen Lutheran Church, Roland, with the Rev. Howard Lybeck officiating. Burial will be in Story Memorial Gardens.
Born at Dorchester, Neb., he moved with his family to Benson, Minn., where they operated a dairy and grain farm. In 1922 he married Mabel Mill and they farmed in Minnesota until 1940, when they moved to Ames. Since his retirement in 1970, Mr. Johnson has worked for Iowa State University doing maintenance work.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel, in 1961. He married Ida Highland in 1953 and she preceded him in death in 1971.
Survivors include a son, Milford, Roland; two daughters, Mrs. Eldon Yashack, 629 Meadow Place and Mrs. James Woodworth, Des Moines; three step daughters, Mrs. Julius Christian of Story City, Mrs. Floyd Larson of Roland and Mrs. Paul Mead of Colo; a brother, Orville, Tucson, Ariz.; one half-sister, Mrs. Bernice Wayne and one half-brother, Bernard Mooberry, both of Benson, Minn.; five grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
The body will lie in state at the Soderstrum Funeral Home, Roland.
