Elizabeth Ann Morris, 88 of Sioux City, Iowa died on Friday, June 24, 2016, at Unity Point Health St. Luke's in Sioux City, Iowa.
A Celebration of her life will be at 11:00 AM on Monday at Grace United Methodist Church located at 1735 Morningside Ave Sioux City, Iowa 51106.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, June 27, 2016, at Grace United Methodist Church, 1735 Morningside Ave, Sioux City, Iowa.Online condolences may be made to the family at www.christysmith.com
Elizabeth was born Friday, March 16, 1928 in Ames, Iowa, to Russell and Pearl (Rice) Smith. She grew up and attended Ames Public Schools and graduated from Ames High School in 1946. After high school she continued her education at Iowa State University in Ames. She married Walter Morris June 13, 1948, together they made their home in Ames. The couple had 2 sons Mike and Craig. Elizabeth was a stay at home mom taking care of the boys and their home. The family lived in several cities during Walter's career; Des Moines, Ottumwa, Dennison, Ames, and Sioux City was the last move in the late 1970's. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a local PEO chapter. Her hobbies included playing bridge, golf, ballroom dancing, reading and cooking.
Survivors include; her husband of 68 years Walter, 2 sons, Mike Morris of Aurora, CO and Craig & Kay O'Connor Morris of Houghton, MI, 4 grandchildren: Whitey Morris, Alexander Morris, Brady Morris and Katie (Anthony) Bilich, brother, Duane "Whitey" Smith of Colorado, sister, Clarine Shupe of California.
She was preceded in death by her parent, 3 siblings, Don Smith, Kenny smith and Betty Spicer
In lieu of flowers the family requests Memorials be directed to Hospice of Siouxland or Grace United Methodist Church.
