Jeffrey O. Rumelhart was born July 30, 1964 in St. Paul, Minn. Jeff served in the U.S. Air Force and worked as a professor at DMACC. The past eight years, Jeff was passionate about his work in prison ministries where he was highly respected.

On March 8, 1993, Jeff met the love of his life, June Routh. Jeff and June were united in marriage on February 9, 1996. With this union four children were born.

Jeff went home to be with Jesus on June 19, 2016 at 51 years of age.

Jeff is survived by his loving and supportive wife of 23 years, June Rumelhart of Elkhart; two sons, James (Brittany) Rumelhart of Story City and Jeffrey Rumelhart of Mo.; two daughters, Ashley (Timothy) Sinclair of Des Moines and Paige (Matthew) Hoggard of Mo.; his mother-in-law, ("Mum") Arydis Routh of Elkhart; four grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; and several loving family and friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Dareld and Marie; his father-in-law, ("Pops") Rev. Maurice D. Routh, Sr.; two sisters; and one brother.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
