Shirley Killam, 79, of Ames, passed away June 16, 2016 at Bethany Manor in Story City.

Shirley Ann Killam was born October 15, 1936 to Clyde and Velma (Lyons) Hicks in Ames, Iowa. She was one of two children and had lived in Ames her entire life. Shirley graduated from Ames High School in 1954 and attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. Shirley and Tim Killam, III were married December 28th 1957 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua Iowa. She drove a school bus while the boys where young in order to spend more quality time with them. Shirley worked as a bookkeeper for Midwest Coaches Transportation until her retirement. Shirley enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, and most of all, spending time with her family and loved ones.

Shirley is survived by two sons, Tim (Ouna) Killam and Jeff (Barb) Killam; her grandchildren, Erica (Eric) Helland and their daughter, Jillouna, Jason Killam and his son, Cael, Chad Killam and his son, Gavin, Alex (Phoebe) Killam, Trent Killam, Sara Kirk, David (Marisa) Kirk and their son, Hayden, and Anthony Kirk.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Tim Killam, III; and her brother, Jim Hicks.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be designated to Bethany Manor, Story City Iowa and Israel Family Hospice House, Ames Iowa
