Murder and suicide.

Alfred Schleiter, a former resident of Boone and well known to many Story county people, and who has resided at Ida Grove for the past ten years, shot his wife yesterday morning at that place and it is supposed the wound is fatal. He then shot himself in the temple dying instantly. Domestic unhappiness is supposed to be the cause. He was reported to be quite wealthy. He was a veteran of the last war, having served three years in Co. "I", 3d Iowa Infantry.
