David Lynn Foster, 69, of Nevada, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

David was born July 13, 1946, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Billy Grant and Ruth Aileen (Farnsworth) Foster. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1964 and attended Cuesta Community College in San Luis Obispo, California. David served in the United States Army from 1966-1968. He worked for the Iowa State Memorial Union Bookstore in Ames, retiring in 2009.

David is survived by his sister, Deborah (Dennis) Switzer of Nevada; and his brother, Jon Foster of Le Mars, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kurt Foster.

Per David’s wishes, he has been cremated and no services are planned. Cremated remains will be placed in the columbarium at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
