COLO

Sudden Death in Colo

A feeling of sadness passed over Colo and vicinity when it was learned that Mr. H. E. Miller had passed away at about three o'clock Saturday afternoon. He had been poorly for a long time but was able to be around until Saturday morning when he was taken with a severe pain in his heart which continued until the end. Harrison E. Miller was born Dec. 20, 1845 near Martinsburg, West Virginia. Later he moved with his parents to a farm near Polo, Ill. Dec. 29, 1869 he was united in marriage to Miss Eliza Hedges. Four children were born to them, one of whom died in infancy and one at the age of fourteen years. Mr. Miller moved his family to Iowa in 1880 and settled on his farm north of Colo. On Feb. 19, 1897 his wife passed away. Feb. 21, 1900 he was married to Miss Dora E. Foster of Joplin, Mo. About six years ago Mr. and Mrs. Miller moved from the farm to their present home in Colo where Mr. Miller passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 1919, aged 73 years, 1 month and 5 days. Mr. Miller was a devoted husband and father; a good neighbor and a true friend. He leaves to mourn their loss, his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Lois Harding and one son Le Roy Miller and one grand daughter, Hazel Harding all of Colo, two sister, Mrs. Anna Shaw of Zearing and Mrs. Virginia Lindsey of Cherryvale, Kan., and one brother George Miler of Los Angeles, Calif., besides many other relatives and wide circle of friends. Funeral services will be held at the M. E. church this (Monday) afternoon at 2:00 o'clock conducted by Rev. L. E. Coleman and Rev. W. C. McKinley. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones.
