Obituary of Mrs. Wyatt

Nancy Jane Johnson was born in Dayton, Ohio, August 6, 1834. She was married to William Wyatt April 11, 1850 and she and her husband moved to Iowa the same year. They moved to Story county 56 years ago. Four children were born to them. Mr. Wyatt passed away November 26, 1876 and the eldest son Thomas died in 1900. Mrs. Wyatt had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for fifty years. She has been afflicted for a number of years being so badly crippled she could scarcely get around, but until the last few months when her disease became so severe that she would not control either body or mind she manifested a lively interest in whatever was going on and always had a friendly greeting for every one. She has been confined to her room for many months and most the time was in bed. She was lovingly and faithfully cared for by her son Rollin W. Wyatt and family at whose home she passed away about 5 o'clock Thursday morning April 16, 1914. She leaves to mourn her loss three children; Mrs. Jane Harding and Rollin W. Wyatt of Colo and Mrs. Eva Colby of Sterling, Kan. Twenty six grand children and twenty four great grand children besides numerous other relatives and friends.
