COUNTY PIONEER BURIED TODAY

WELL KNOWN McCALLSBURG MAN DIED WEDNESDAY AFTER A SHORT ILLNESS

The funeral of A. K. Guthrie on of the pioneer settlers of McCallsburg was held on Thursday afternoon from his late home with services at the Presbyterian church at 2:30 and the interment was in Zearing.

Mr. Guthrie was ill for four months with a cancer of the stomach and died at an early hour on Wednesday morning. He has suffered intensely and his death was not unexpected.

For the past half century he has been a prominent man in the northern part of the county having held many positions of trust and been prominently identified in township and school affairs.
