Services Held At Zearing for Henry S. Reynolds
Funeral services for Henry S. Reynolds were held Thursday, Nov. 21, 1963 in the Christian Church in Zearing. Rev. Ted Warren officiated.
Casket bearers were Floyd Steelman, George Gaunt, Marvin Golly, James Roche, Donald Springer and Forrest Turner. Mrs. Gordon Lundy accompanied the quartette, Dale Johnston, Eldon Crain, Paul Lundy and Gordon Lundy. Mrs. Ann Adams cared for the flowers. Burial was in the Zearing cemetery.Obituary
Henry S. Reynolds, son of Jonah and Mary Reynolds, was born March 2, 1895 in Yadkinville, North Carolina. He lived all his youth in Yadkinville, and moved to Iowa following his discharge from the Army. He spent the remainder of his life in Iowa with the past 27 years in Zearing.
He was married to Dora Steelman, Jan. 7, 1920. Four children were born to this union, three of whom survive, Mrs. Dick (Pauline) Shattuck of Zearing; Florence of Des Moines and Shirley of Marshalltown; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dora in 1960 and a son Dale in 1949, his parents and one brother David Alfred of Yadkinville, N.C.
Three sisters and one brother survive, Mrs. Rachel Gregory, Mrs. Mamie Doffins and Mrs. J. T. (Kate) Howell and Hadley Reynolds, all of Yadkinville.
Military funeral services were held by the American Legion Post 116 of Zearing at the Zearing Cemetery.
