Miss Bertha May Welty* of Johnson's Grove died last Wednesday and was buried from the M. E. church on Friday. Her disease was caused by a complication of pulmonary troubles. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church, a bright joyous young woman, twenty two years of age and general favorite among her young friends. The funeral service was conducted by her pastor, Rev. George H. Schnur, assisted by Rev. A. W. Harned of Colo. The six brothers were the pall-bearers at the funeral. The family of the deceased desire to express gratitude for kindnesses shown by friends and neighbors.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: The submitter believes the name of the deceased in wrong in the obituary, unless Dora Mae Welty's true name was Bertha. Born December 23, 1868 and died on November 25, 1891, she was 22 years of age and had six brothers as mentioned. Dora Mae Welty's date of death coincides with death date mentioned and publication on December 2, 1891.

Dora Mae Welty was the daughter of Christian Columbus Welty and Susan Poffenberger.
