From Nevada Representative September 23, 1891
Mrs. Addie D., wife of L. H. Padellford, died at her home in Nevada yesterday morning, at the age of thirty-five. Mrs. Padellford had been an invalid for three or four years but an acute malady of a week's duration was the immediate cause of death. She was born in Keokuk, and as the adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Woodward was reared in Nevada, and here married. She has been for four years a consistent member of the Baptist church, and leaves besides the bereaved husband and little nine year-old son, many sorrowing friends. The funeral service will be conducted at the Baptist church Thursday at two P. M., by Rev. Mr. Lovelace of Grand Junction. Neighbors and friends, for their kind services to the departed, are accorded the grateful thanks of those who mourn.
SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Addie (Denney/Denny) Padellford was the daughter of Ebenezer Denny/Denny and Sarah Thomas but, as stated, was "adopted" by Warren Reynold Woodward and Margaret Hillery. At the time of her marriage to Linwood Hoar Padellford on 22 March 1876 in Story County, Iowa, her name is recorded as "Ada Woodward."
