From Nevada Representative August 5, 1891
Maxwell.
Quite a gloom was cast over this place last Tuesday the 18th when intelligence was received that Mrs. Jessie Ellen Dunahoo, wife of Wm. Dunahoo, was dead. They lived about seven miles north east of here. She was only a little past 33 years of age. She was the daughter of John Brodie, who now live on what is known as the Porter place. Her death was peculiarly sad from the fact it was unexpected and that she was still young and left so many to mourn her loss--a husband, a little boy three years old, her aged parents, brothers, sisters and many friends. She was a sister to John and Anna Brodie and Mrs. Dr. Joor all of this place. The funeral took place Wednesday, the 29th, at Iowa Centre, and was conducted by her pastor, Rev. Dawson, assisted by Rev's. Stauffacher and Ferguson and was attended by a large and solemn concourse of people, after which the remains were laid to rest inthe beautiful Woodland cemetery.
