From Nevada Representative August 5, 1891
DIED:--At his home, two miles northwest of Nevada, Thursday July 30, 1891, William Kelly in his 77th year.
Mr. Kelly was born Nov. 12, 1814 on the Isle of Man and came when nine years old to New York City, where he grew up and married when about 20. He came west in 1846 first settling near Kenosha, Wis. and in 1867 removed to Story county an bought the farm on which he died. He had six daughters and two sons, all of whom grew up but of whom only one daughter, Miss Rossa, and the two sons Robert and T. W., together with his wife of nearly sixty years, survive him. Mr. Kelly died of no acute disease, but yielded to those forces of nature which limit the span of every life. His life was a peaceful and worthy one, and having lived more than the allotted time of man, he ceased his toil, for his work was done. The funeral was conducted Friday afternoon by Rev. Coyle.
On the same page:
--T. W. Kelly of Fort Calhoun, Neb., and his three children arrived Friday in time to attend his fathers funeral. Mr. K. returned home to-day, but leaves the children for a time.
