Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Steven John Wailes was born in Manning, Iowa to Deloris Lindholm and William (Bill) Wailes, on April 29th, 1953. He passed away at his home on January 18th, 2016 at the age of 62.

He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle and friend to many; with many accomplishments in his life. After graduating Audubon High School, Steve attended Junior College in Boone, Iowa, and continued his extensive studies, earning himself a degree in Architecture at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He was renowned for his skills in Architecture, Landscaping, and Billiards. His first Architecture job was in Des Moines, Iowa; followed by teaching what he loved at Iowa State University. Steve had driven from coast to coast touring the United States in his red Mazda Miata. Steve remolded multiple homes, giving his own custom renovation and improvements to the homes, in and around Ames.

As a hobby, he was an accomplished billards and darts player, with winning many tournaments under his belt.

He was the eldest of Deloris' three children, and Bill's oldest of five children. Steve is survived by his mother Dee Lindholm, his favorite-est daughter Lydia Perry, his sisters Kathy Cartwright Jeannie Wailes-Fisher, and Gail Schayfer. As well as his brothers, Steven, Craig, Mark and Curtis Lindholm, and Michael and John Wailes and many nieces and nephews and friends.
