--Nehemiah Shutts of Richland township died last Friday. His remains were taken to Illinois, near Sycamore, for burial.

Nehemiah Shutts whose recent death was chronicled in the REPRESENTATIVE was born in Canada in 1827. He came to Illinois in 1854; and thence to Story county, Iowa, in 1883. He purchased the M. E. Hix farm in Richland and lived thereon until his decease, Friday, Dec. 12, 1890. His burial took place a Genoa, Illinois, his old home. He leaves, to mourn his loss, a wife, two sons, Frank and Harry--the former residing at the South and the latter attending Medical college at Chicago--and two daughter, Fanny and Helen living at home. Mr. Shutts was a man highly esteemed by those who knew him. The family are thankful for assistance and kindness shown them in their bereavement.
