Mary Wheatly died Monday night at the home of her mother in the southeast part of Nevada township. She had been sick some little time, but was not regarded as dangerously ill, and her death same as a great shock to her family and friends. Her funeral is appointed for to-morrow. A mother, two sisters and five brothers of her immediate family are left to mourn her untimely death.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Mary M. Wheatley was the daughter of Allen Wheatley and Laura Ann Abrams. Although her obituary does not mention a husband, this submitter has record of her marriage to William H. Shirey on 24 December 1889 in Nevada, Story County, Iowa.
