J. R. Boyd died last Sunday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. J. Clemens*, of Newton. His funeral was conducted Monday at the Union Chapel, Greencastle, by the Rev. Mr. Griffith, of Colfax, and was largely attended by his old neighbors and friends. Mr. Boyd has been one of the sturdy, industrious citizens of Jasper county, since 1856, and was kindly regarded by all who knew him. He was a little over 80 years of age at the time of decease. He leaves a large family of children all of whom have reached mature years. Boyd Bros. of Nevada are of them.
