From Nevada Representative July 23, 1890
--Miss Gertie Rutherford has been stopping with friends in Nevada since her brothers burial last Thursday.
On the same page of this issue of the paper:
The remains of Justus E. Rutherford were deposited in the Nevada cemetery Thursday beside those of his father. Mr. Rutherford's death occurred at the hospital in Missoula, Montana, July 11th. His malady was quick consumption resulting from an attack of the grip in January. The sick man's intense longing to look upon the face of a loved one before death came was not gratified as his eyes closed upon earth the day before the arrival of his sister, Miss. Belle, and his brother, Ed. Mr. Rutherford's boyhood was spent in Nevada. Later he was in the employ of the C. & N. W., and was for some time passenger conductor on the Hawarden train. His age was thirty five. He leaves a wife and child who came on from Kansas City in time for the funeral, and who are expected to remain for the present with his friends in Ames.
