Obituary.
Died of acute lung fever Colo, Iowa, on January 22nd, 1890, Mina Dayton. Her maiden name was Roberts and she was born in Cortland, Illinois June 6th 1845. When sixteen years of age she gave her heart to God, was baptized and united with the Free Baptist church. On the 6th of June 1865 she was married to Milo Dayton. In 1877 her husband died leaver her an invalid with two sons. The Christian religion she had embraced sustained her. In 1883 with her family and mother she moved to Colo, Iowa; here she untied with the Methodist Protestant church. Sister Dayton was a very kind daughter and mother. She possessed many virtues, and her character enriched by the graces of a pure devotional spirit, is of great worth to her loved ones. She leaves an aged mother, one brother and two sons to mourn but not as those who have no hope.
May the principles of purity and love so much enjoyed by the mother be the crowning glory of her children and friends.
The severe cold did not hinder the large circle of friends from attending the funeral service in the M. P. church in Colo; after which the body was taken to Illinois and laid to rest beside that of the husband--awaiting the resurrection of the just. Text Rev. 21,4.
Now on that peaceful happy shore
She waits for us to come;
She is not lost; but gone before
To that celestial home.
And faith can say through tears of gloom
Thy will O Father God be done.A. W. GILCHRIST.
