Miss Mary John, daughter of D. W. John, died at the home if her father, three miles east of Maxwell, April 24, 1889, after a few days illness, aged 17 years. She was a very bright and interesting young lady, and much loved by her friends. She was in good health and a pupil in the school at Maxwell until within a week or ten days of her death. Rev. R. A. Ferguson conducted the funeral services, assisted by Rev. Mr. Nichol, on Thursday the 25th, after which the remains were interred on the cemetery at Maxwell.
